Human Trafficking and the Opioid Crisis Webinar

During “National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month,” NHTTAC will host a 90-minute webinar that highlights emerging trends, case studies, and research on the intersection between human trafficking and substance use with a specific focus on the opioid crisis. Discussion will center on trauma-informed approaches to human trafficking and substance use screening, the role of substance use for individuals at risk of trafficking and survivors of trafficking, treatment options for dependency, and the underlying issues that put victims and survivors at risk. Presentations will be delivered by grantees from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office on Trafficking in Persons and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
